The one real weakness with the Seashore Club is that there is just enough parking space for the residents, with no place for visitors to park. So, with 30 - 40 cars arriving for the wedding, we had to come up with another plan.
Where To Park
Fortunately, there is plenty of parking nearby at the Des Moines City Marina.
From I-5, take the Kent-Des Moines Road (Route 516) exit (#149) west towards Des Moines.
Drive 2 miles on Kent-Des Moines Road. Curve right onto Marine View Drive (follow signs for Route 509 N).
Make a quick left onto 227th. Drive 0.2 miles.
Turn right on Dock Avenue S. Park in the Des Moines City Marina parking lot near the Gruner/Lundy sign. Shuttle bus will pick you up to take you to the Seashore Club.
Shuttles
We have rented a 15 passenger van and a driver to bring our friends to the wedding. We will be picking people up at the Des Moines Marina parking lot and at the nearby Marina Inn, for our friends staying there.
The shuttle will start running at 2:30 and continue right up to the start of the ceremony at 4:00 pm.The shuttle will resume after the ceremony and continue until all of our guests are returned to their cars or their hotel.
Arrive Early
Really. The wedding ceremony is only 1 mile away, but with turns and traffic, and picking up friends from both the Marina and Marina Inn, the round trip will take 15 minutes. Please arrive early and enjoy a glass of wine before the ceremony.
