Ceremony

Details

Sibyl and Glenn will not have a conventional ceremony. Glenn is an agnostic while Sibyl is a Buddhist and associate minister at the oldest continuously operating church in King County, although many congregations have called it home over the years. You can find out more about that church here. So, we will have an eclectic, inclusive, non-traditional, non-Christian ceremony.

Reverend Karen will lead the ceremony. Reverend Karen's spiritual practices include, but are not limited to, the sacred turning-of-the-heart of the great Sufi poet, Rumi and his whirling dervishes - and ancient, indigenous, spiritual practice spontaneously revived through mystical and prayerful experiences entered into by Rumi.

Reverend Linda will provide the ritual. Linda is a Visionary Artist and Healer. Linda's spiritual path looks for the common cords that tie all faith traditions to the Divine. Linda honors the Eternal Divine Feminine through intuitive gnosis and investigation of the Ancient Mysteries.

Jamal Rahman will provide a blessing. Jamal's passion lies in interfaith community building. He remains rooted in his Islamic tradition but cultivates 'spaciousness' by being open to the beauty and wisdom of other faiths. Through the process of an authentic and appreciative understanding of other paths, Jamal feels that he is becoming a better Muslim.

Ceremony Site

The wedding will be held at the Seashore Club, 23641 7th Avenue South, Des Moines, WA. The Seashore Club was built on land purchased by ten Danish families in 1926. After World War II many of the cabins were improved to become year-round homes. Seashore Club is now a quaint community of 12 homes that share 2 acres and 190' of prime Puget Sound Waterfront and a historic beach house!

The ceremony will be held in front of the historic pergola located at the west end of the common area. Our guests will enjoy a beautiful view of Puget Sound.
